ALLEGHENY COUNTY FIRE STATION 127

AB

Since the earliest days of our nation, small groups of individuals banded together and formed fire companies. The colonist realized the need against a costly and deadly foe-FIRE.

Since 1886, many Coraopolis residents have stepped forward to offer their time and abilities to serve the community as volunteer firefighters.

The Coraopolis Volunteer Fire Department currently has 16 active members who stand ready 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to serve should an incident occur. The Fire Department has 3 engines, 2 ladder trucks, and various rescue equipment with trained fire fighters and rescue personel.

The fire station is located on Fourth Avenue, and an auxiliary station is located on First Avenue. The Fire Department offers fire prevention training for schools and organizations. For more information contact Larry Byrge, Fire Chief. The community's support is greatly appreciated.
