Welcome to the Coraopolis Volunteer Fire Department ALLEGHENY COUNTY STATION 127 Established in 1886, 124 Years of Service
Since the earliest days of our nation, small groups of individuals banded together and formed fire companies. The colonist realized the need against a costly and deadly foe-FIRE. For over one hundred-twenty years, many Coraopolis residents have stepped forward to offer their time and abilities to serve the community as volunteer firefighters. The Coraopolis Volunteer Fire Department currently has twenty-five (25) active members who stand ready twenty-four (24) hours a day, three hundred-sixty-five (365)days a year to serve should an incident occur. The Fire Department has three (3) engines, two (2) ladder trucks, a river rescue unit and vehicle rescue equipment and trained personnel. The fire station is located on State Avenue, and an auxiliary station is located on First Avenue. The Fire Department offers fire prevention training for schools and organizations. For more information contact Larry Byrge, Fire Chief. The community's support is greatly appreciated.
